Week 56 – Come on the Cats

This week has been rather wet – it has rained most nights and Friday brought us about 25mm of rain so everything looks water logged. Our pool is completely full and I have actually had to backwash some water to waste.

I forgot last week to welcome a friend to the retired group. Our  neighbour Lorna retired at the end of June and is probably going to find it difficult not to head of to work each day. Best of luck Lorna – you and Pete will now be able to really enjoy your grand kids and be able to spend more time out at Gentle Annie.

Jill has been eating asparagus and taking lots of tablets to improve her condition. She has been out in the gym each day – and has been having trouble with her walking – really is missing her walking down at the netball courts. Beth (Jill’s Physio) was here on Friday and checked the new hand rails, they got a tick of approval. She also gave Jill some more exercises to help with her walking. So this week will see lots of effort put into them. Jill has an appointment with her neurologist on Thursday so we are hoping that she is well enough to go – we had to cancel the last appointment because of her fall back in October. He has changed his rooms so we will have to find the new ones and also organise parking that is very close or park and use a taxi .

We had a phone call from Allison this evening from Kingfisher Resort on Fraser Island. They had just arrived after spending 5 days at Cathedral Beach Caravan Park on the eastern side of Fraser Island. The weather had been great, no wind and they could see the fish, sharks in the ocean. Each day they also saw whales cruising past. She caught four tailor and feels she should be upgraded into status of fisher woman and have her own rod and waders.

Jill had some more excitement this week end with the arrival of Chris and Nicole on Friday night – they were here over night and headed home this afternoon to do some more unpacking. Nicole has a cold and is also allergic to Jess – that alone gives her the sneezes. They brought some photos of the new house – we will share them with you. Chris just rang to say they were home safely – it takes about 2 hours door to door.

For those interested in Australian Rules – I barrack for Geelong (the cats) and they have won 8 games in a row and it looks as though I will be able to wear my cats tie – which has been in the wardrobe for about 5 years – as long as the moths haven’t eaten it. I have to find the right place to show off in it.

I am writing early tonight and Jess has not arrived and Jake is sound asleep in his bed.

See you next week on the net
