Week 14 – Some more happy news

Sorry we are late in getting this diary entry posted as we went to Melbourne on Saturday to be with Chris and Nicole to celebrate their engagement – belated as it is.

Weather: Sun Shining, no clouds

Reason: Chris and Nicole’s Engagement

Where:Pier 3 South Melbourne

When: 17th September 2006

Although Chris & Nicole became engaged before we left for China they had been unable to celebrate with their friends because Chris had been sick and had then come to China to be with us.On the way down on Saturday we met Chris and Nicole at their new block at Lorimar and like them we cannot wait for their house to start. We were also taken to Carolyn Springs to a Henley Display home centre and shown their home design. The house warming party will be great when the house is completed. Keep an eye on Chris & Nicole’s blog site for further updates.

Things have progressed at Jill’s Gym; the arrival of the Vocastim unit has meant the commencement of another exercise. We used it for 3 days and noticed that Jill’s voice was becoming croaky as it had done in China. Because this exercise does not have a set routine to follow, we decided to give it a couple of days rest and with in 24 hours the voice had lost the croaky sound and was much better. The trip to Melbourne has certainly put a strain on Jill’s voice as well as her physical being. We have now decided to try the unit on alternate days.

Sunday was supposed to be our day of rest but with the long flight of stairs at Chris and Nicole’s it was far from that. We noted that Jill negotiated the stairs much better than she had done in the past (before China). On two occasions she suddenly appeared at the top of the stairs.

The verandah along the main wall of the Gym has been completed. This was for two reasons to give us protection from the rain and to shade the windows. Winter has passed and it looks like it will only be used for shade.

The chairs from China are still some time away – but we are told they are being manufactured so fingers crossed

Tomorrow we have the long awaited appointment with the orthopaedic surgeon and possibly another verdict on Jill’s knees.

Finally before we retire for the night and sign off, we would like to wish Nicole’s mum, Marg, a great time as she heads off on a trip to Europe and the UK next week.

HAVE A GRETA TIME MARG – love Mac and Jill.

See you next week on the net.

  1. Hi. Great photo of Chris and Nicole. Looks like you are almost there with the gym. Good luck with the knee visit. Barry is off to the doctor this afternoon for a second nose cauterisation. Lots of nose bleeds. Remind you of anyone????
We have Aaron here at the moment and consequently Barry has a new best friend. He is like a shadow and full of suggestions as to what they should do next.
Nasty windy day. Good only for staying indoors. Margaret

    Hi Jill and Mac,
Wasn’t it great to meet all involved in the wedding! It was lovely to be able to catch up with you both as well – maybe a quieter venue next time – bit of a strain on the old voice for everyone!
Many thanks for your best wishes. Doubt if I’ll have to try and have a great time with two wonderful friends. Should broaden the mind but hopefully not the waist line!
Hope the pool warms up soon, Jill.
Looking forward to catching up on your Blog and Nic and Chris’s house updates on return.
Warmest wishes to you from Marg, and Peter too.
