Week 15 – Jill’s Gym is finished

Fantastic news: This week started with an email to say the chairs had been consigned,we kept checking the net to see where they were. They arrived into Melbourne on Wednesday and then the courier arrived at the door on Friday morning with the chairs and we quickly unloaded the crates and I stripped then down and moved things around Jill’s Gym to accommodate the new arrivals. As shown on the photo every thing fits and Jill has room to move through her rotation of the equipment. Jill was out there waiting for me to finish so she could try the new chairs. They have received her thumbs up and she says that they move much more freely than the same items in China. We guess that they are pretty well used in China and probable do not receive much care to maintain them.

This week has been full of other news – our visit to the orthopaedic surgeon has resulted in Jill being programmed for a series of 3 injections of a product called Synvisc.

The injected SYNVISC absorbs shocks and lubricates while reducing sensitivity and helping to restore the healthy mobility of the joint. The only problem is that it is not on the PBS list and consequently is fairly expensive (approximately $400-$500 per injection). The injections must be done a week apart and consequently we have to wait until mid October so that the surgeon is available each week to do the injections. If anybody is interested the web site is www.synvisc.com

This week we have also had a farewell retirement party – which was organised by Warrick and Tina (the new owners of Bluewave) it was great for Jill and I to see some of our old friends from the past as well as staff who have worked with us at Bluewave. Members of our family were also there, my brother Keiran, and his wife Louise, my sister Pat and my mother Gwen (93 years young) as well as our son Chris and his fiancée Nicole. Keiran and Louise operated Bluewave Pools & Spas Albury and by some coincidence have also sold and are looking at retirement in the next couple of months. So it’s like the end of an era for the Keenan family and their association with the Swimming Pool Industry – approximately 35 years.

The exercise regime moves up another notch from here on.

See you next week on the net
