Week 125 – Day 7 ” Results of the Tests”

Not a good night but we have finally woken up to a beautiful day and we hoped that things would improve from that point on. Jill still felt pretty ordinary and wasn’t up to anything. I went to the OT room and explained to Owen the best I could that Jill had been sick and that she wouldn’t be able to do anything today. Because it is Saturday there were no doctor’s rounds and I went and found the doctor and he came to our room with the results, With Amanda (interpreter) he explained that the blood test was Ok but Jill had a UTI infection and that he would prescribe an antibiotic for her. After some discussion and a look at the medication we had brought he prescribed his own. Jill’s temperature has returned to normal – it has been taken several times today.

We were getting very short of supplies and I didn’t want to leave Jill so I spoke to Amanda and organised for Mary – one of the Chinese cleaning staff to go shopping for us after she knocked off at 11.30 am. Amanda took my list and transcribed it into Chinese for Mary. Lunch consisted of left over rice, dry biscuits and some fruit. Anybody would think Jill is still on a diet. Mary arrived back about 1pm with two grocery bags and every thing from my list- which is better that I can do. She even got cereal – corn flakes which we never found last time in China. I think she was surprised when I said thankyou in Chinese. The afternoon was very quiet, Jill read and I fiddled with the computer. Amanda arrived with next week’s schedule. Stem cells or BMT on Monday and Stem Cells on Friday and acupuncture, electric wave therapy and Physical exercise each morning. We will need to talk to the Doctors about Monday’s Stem cells & BMT. Jill will have completed the antibiotics by Sunday evening and our fingers will be crossed that the infection is gone.

While Jill was reading I went for a walk around the hospital and took some photos. While out near the original hospital there were two painters suspended each by a single rope and were painting the wall- No work care inspectors looking on. Probably they are circus performers moonlighting as painters. The weather is clear and sunny but cold. I walked around the hospital at 4pm and the temperature was 8C.

Our evening meal was toasted cheese sandwiches and leftovers. Michael finally rang us this evening and it was good to speak to him. We also spoke to Mum on Pat’s Skype connection –so she had the chance to see us at the same time and was amazed at the technology.

Sunday is a complete FREE day so we will need to do a little exercise to make up for the last couple – if Jill is up to it
