Week 125 – Day 5 – “more physical exercises”

Day 5 – more exercises

We had a better sleep last night, probably getting over the jet lag etc. We woke this morning to a dense fog much the same as yesterday and it shows no signs of lifting. Jill has had no reaction to the stem cell IV, not that we expected one anyway. Plenty of hot water at 6.30am must depend on who primes the boiler. The nurse came in at about 11pm last night to check Jill’s temperature and blood pressure and we were told that was the last for the night. Early this morning another nurse appeared and took temperature & blood pressure – “normal”. Again we were to be at the OT room for some more acupuncture and electric wave therapy by 8 am. We have tomorrow off (not sure why the break) except for the doctor’s rounds and with a bit of luck we will find out if Jill is getting the bone marrow therapy.

We have put our laundry out to be collected as we are starting to run out of under ware. It is collected, washed and returned? All we have to do is pay for it. I took Jill for a short walk down to the ground floor to show her the small shop. It has a variety of items, shampoo, wheel chairs, toilet paper, fruit, coffee, ice cream, and packets of food – Chinese labels? And even a folding lounge like we have in the caravan. We came back up to our room for lunch – left over chicken and rice from last night as well as fruit. I met another American from Nashville Tennessee he has ataxia and has had 4 stem cell injections to date. We had a rest after lunch in preparation for Jill PE. The PE room is at the end of the passage and a very light and airy room. When we arrived we were the only ones there. Own had Jill lay down on the bench and he began massaging her shoulders and arm then he massaged and manipulated her legs in all directions. He then had her do lift ups and kneeling and supporting herself. He asked was she OK, but it was obvious she was tired. He suggested that we call it a day. Because tomorrow is a rest day after the doctors’ visit I will go to Guo Huo Mart for some essentials. Lucy has written the name in Chinese so that I can get a taxi on my own, should be fun.

We came back to number 11 and had afternoon tea and picked up a video from the lounge. “What stays in Vega$”. Pat has finally got Skype working – no video but at least we had a talk. Lucy just dropped in and we ordered dinner Chicken and steamed vegetables (25 RMB = $6) probably last for lunch tomorrow as well. Jill has started watching the video after I figured out the Chinese remote. While we were talking to Allison our dinner arrived , I think we got more neck the chicken but it tasted ok – not enough for lunch.

Both of us have been asleep after lunch so we had better get changed and go to bed.

See you tomorrow on the net
