Week 277-81 ” Listening to Jill doing voice exercises”

We are sitting in the kitchen with our new speech therapist – she is working on a LSVT program and doing a review to see where Jill is at the moment. Jill’s voice has been getting quieter and sitting here listening to them she has Jill saying words much louder than she normally does. She is talking about recalibrating Jill’s speech pattern for volume.

The last few weeks have been relatively quiet. We have had the  physio and occupational therapist here several times discussing a new kitchen chair which has more lateral support and a new recliner for the lounge which has the electric lift which will make the transition from the walking frame and wheel chair much easier. I have been to the local rehabilitation retailer to look and have to organise to take Jill so that we can make a decision. We also need to head to Melbourne to look at the personal lift. Delivery is approximately 3 months.

I have almost completed the van – recliners are completed , gas heating connected and then we are free to look at another trip away. I decided to take the van out and have it weighed. It appears over the weight specified on the identification plate but still well under the maximum weight for the base frame. I will empty every thing that not screwed down and take it out for a new Tare weight, then take it to the RTA and get a new plate attached.

Pat & Keith have headed away to Kym’s to give her a hand over the school holidays – It was Pat’s birthday on Tuesday – sorry we missed you before you left – HAPPY BIRTHDAY They have somebody staying at the farm to feed the animals and look after things in general.

Riley had another visit to the hospital – high temp and not well at all. However as usual by the time he got to see someone he had sparked up and not much could be done . By the time he got home again temperature was up and Chris took him to see his GP on Monday. Still teething and appears t have a chest infection – so here hoping that once the teeth are through he is back feeling Ok.

Allison and Chris are off in their Jayco Hawk to Glenelg – South Australia at the weekend for a week away- hope the weather improves for them.

Well I had better get Jill some afternoon tea

See you soon on the net.
