Week 97 – TCM – Traditional Chinese Medicine

The mornings are starting to cool and the leaves in our trees out the front are starting to turn – not that I want that to happen too quickly as I will have to rake them up.

Our week has turned out eventful, with us finally getting our appointment with the specialist on Friday. We received a phone call about 11 am telling us they had a cancellation and we could come at 4pm. Following our appointment Jill had a full set of blood taken and tomorrow X-rays and then respiratory tests on Tuesday. That will keep us on the go this week along with exercises.

I started the changes to the spa this week, cut out the high step and made a couple of smaller steps that Jill can manage. Then emptied the spa, cleaned the internal, removed the cartridge and cleaned it. I was able to water the lawn with the water from the spa, some syphoned out and the rest by bucket (about 150). My back has reminded me what I have been doing. I cleaned the cover and polished it with Armorall – looks like new. I have set the temperature at 36C and we should be in it today to give it a trial. I have decided to decorate the area around the spa with some greenery (plants) so I will have another visit to the nursery. I finally got back my football poster – Geelong Premiers 2007- we had it framed. Jill won’t let me hang it in the living area (She barracks for the Demons – Melbourne). I am looking for a home even out near the spa. What do you think?

We had another comment to the Blog last week from Germany as I said it amazes me how many read these ramblings. We also had an email from Canada this week. Christine is a China stem cell recipient and we have kept in contact over the last year. She has started some Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) over the last three months with some positive results to her balance, speech and over all well being. Her comment about eastern medicine is interesting –

“Chinese medicine is different, also, in that it helps your body begin to function better on its own, and so this sort of treatment takes a bit of time but will continue after I’ve stopped. It’s about balancing areas that aren’t functioning properly. I’ve learned a bit about eastern medicine-it’s very different from western but refreshingly positive and realistic about what the body can do for itself given the right materials. So nice to see a doctor with that sort of attitude as opposed to being poked, prodded, tested and dismissed  by typical doctors here…

I checked the local directory and found two TCM practitioners. There is one in Wangaratta and another in Wodonga. While Jill is involved with the current round of tests I will send off an email to them and see what they can offer.

I brought in the local junk mail – I always read it – and there was a small leaflet from Spanline – home additions and I recognised the front photo. I showed it to Jill and was said amazed “That’s Allison’s patio” See below. We also received a booklet from Beth our physio and there on page 7 was a photo of Jill & Beth.

This week had another milestone for us to celebrate – Allison & Chris’s wedding anniversary. We hope they had a good weekend – They went to Torquay for Saturday night.

Well we will have a pretty full week coming up – so see you next week on the net
