Week 92 – Paint Brush Lily

The weather is continuing to be very warm (HOT). At least it means Jill gets to exercise in the pool each day. We have been spending about an hour each day. Jill walks across the pool about 30+ times , as well as jogging on the spot, and this week she has done some swimming ( normally she does not want to get her hair wet). I think that the heat is getting to her. These are exercises that she would not be able to do on dry land so are very important. Jake keeps us company by running round and round the pool. He would be barking except he is carrying a ball in his mouth. It is the only way we can go into the pool.

We have been to the dentist, we both had an injection – painless dentistry I think but your mind probably thinks something else as the needle enters your mouth. Jill thought we were going for a clean & scale so I was not that popular.

I mentioned the new light tube for the fish tank – I was recommended a blue light. It is certainly different and has taken about a week to get used to it.

The decision has been made and we are not going away for Easter. The van has been pushed back but is ready should things change. The Jeep has even been cleaned with the change in water restrictions that came into vogue on the Wednesday- We are now allowed to water each evening and also wash the car with a trigger operated hose. The garden can not believe it.

Each year we wait for the Paint Brush Lily (Haemanthus coccineus) to flower and to my surprise we have two flowers this year – it reminds us of dad as it was his favourite.

Michael is coming home today with Gus (Staffy). I told Jake. “Gus is coming” and you could see his excitement (“Gus Who?”). Jill will have her hair cut and coloured and this will bring a new emotional change – her hair bugs her as it grows. I am allowed to help her colour it but thank heavens she does not let me near with a pair of scissors.

We have just commenced our fifth week on Xango – nothing to report.

The week has passed swiftly and we will be back on the net next week.
