Week 85 – We can Barbeque again.

I got to do some gardening at Chris and Nicole’s before we left. I weeded out the front and still have Doreen mud stuck to my sandals. We came home on Monday and were welcomed by the animals.

While we were at Chris’s he cooked a leg of lamb on the barbeque and Jill said why we can’t do that. Well the story goes like this. We have a natural gas – 4 burner barbeque on the back patio – against the side fence. Growing against the fence is a wall of ivy. About twelve months ago Chris and I were using the barbeque and the dried ivy leaves that had fallen behind the barbeque caught fire and with the usual panic we managed to get the hose and put the fire out. That was the last time we used the barbeque. On Tuesday morning I decided to make some changes – I cut out the ivy and ordered a folded sheet of checker plate to put behind the barbeque. Late Friday I picked it up and installed in early Saturday morning. Jill is impressed and said “Why can’t we have the water feature beside it, finished”. That’s another story.

I woke this morning with Macca in the background – he has been off air on holidays – we certainly have missed him.

This week we have been watching the tennis – with the hope that Australia may have a finalist – next year maybe. Then the last part of the week gave me the cricket. Then this morning came the news that Gilchrist is retiring. He will be missed.

We had Beth here on Friday and she put Jill through some exercises out in the gym to see how she was going. She thinks that the swimming pool offers the best exercise option. So with the Crazy exercise machine, gym and swimming pool Jill’s days are quite full. In between she still has to find time to do speech, breathing, vocastim and writing. Each of these takes about 30-40 minutes to complete.

Jill just called me and asked where breakfast is. Nicole spoilt her with pancakes again. So I am about to cook some pancakes, adding blackberries and cream. Who is coming to breakfast?

I had better go or I will be in the bad books for the rest of the day. We did have a barby last night.

See you next week on the net.
