Week 80 – Merry Christmas 2007

We are sitting watching Carols in the Domain on TV having just come back from a drive around Wangaratta to look at the Christmas lights that people have erected around their homes. It is amazing how many lights are used and how fantastic they look. My camera work does not do it justice – hard to hold it steady.

This week certainly has passed very quickly, trying to get all our Christmas chores done before we head off to Chris and Nicole’s to celebrate our Christmas. Cards all posted on Monday – hope we didn’t miss anybody. If yours did not arrive – then take this as our Christmas greetings to you.

I have, today under Jill’s tuition, cooked a Toblerone Cheesecake, Christmas pudding (Gluten free) and tomorrow a turkey will be roasted. (Fingers crossed). Cooking is one of those tasks that I have never showed any flair for and I need to follow recipes. Jill gets upset at my slow procedure as I keep looking at the written word – not wanting to make a mistake – as that will cost me. I have also stewed some apricots – Pat and Keith arrived on Sunday with a bucket of apricots. They are great with cereal for breakfast and with ice-cream for dinner. Our neighbour has a tree laden with apricots and with the rain and wind our backyard is covered. I have collected another bucket full to stew.

Like the rest of Victoria we have had some good rainfalls this week and we received 54mm yesterday – I think that will be the best fall all year. Allison rang and told us that they were putting a sprinkler system, tank and turf down at the kinder this week – Friday they arrived to install the sprinkler system – which they did along with 50mm of rain and lots of mud. Saturday the turf was arriving. She emailed us some photos of the turf completed.

This week we have heard via card and email from those we met through our visit to China and those interested in Stem Cells. It was great to hear from Canada, USA, China and the Australians who are now great friends.

Exercises have continued, out to the gym, Crazy vibrating machine, voice and vocastim. We also had a visit to the doctors on Monday followed by a couple of tests. Results were OK so we can relax and enjoy Christmas.

Next week is Jill’s brothers’ birthday – Boxing Day – HAPPY BIRTHDAY BARRY.

Well my Christmas pudding is ready to come out (I do hope it is eatable) and it is time to head of to bed.

                                 MERRY CHRISTMAS 2007

Merry Christmas to everybody and we will see you on the net next week.

Sorry for putting this question here, but I am interested in your opinion of the effectiveness of the Chinese stem cell operation. I understand it is difficult to measure, but just your impressions of how much improvement it produces would be great, particularly after this long. My father has MSA and we are trying to determine if the trip to China is the right thing for him.
    Thanks for your time.
