Week 73 – No more Hytrin

Rain at last – Saturday evening and I just checked the internet for Wangaratta weather and until 7.30pm we had approximately 20mm of rain. There is more to come according to the weather forecast.

Jill has been on Hytrin for the last 3 weeks and was up to 3mg but the reaction has made her very tired. She has been going to sleep sitting at the table. She has also noted aching arms and legs. Her legs are also shaking – so again we have decided to stop taking it. This is where we are working in the dark – not knowing what to expect – but not wanting things to get worse.

This week started with a birthday lunch at Hollywood’s with the family – a chance to celebrate Jill’s birthday. It also gave Jill a chance to walk into the restaurant where there were a fairly large group of people. The kids left after lunch and headed home. On Monday we went down to the netball courts in the evening to avoid the flies. Jill has exercised each day in the gym and we have alternated the voice and vocastim exercises each day. I have noticed it has been more difficult for Jill to do the exercises and I am putting it down to the Hytrin. Friday Jill went shopping with Beth ( her physio) to Coles – while I mowed the lawns. This is the first time she has gone without me. She was pleased to get home and ready to rest, but Beth was very pleased with her. On Thursday we had Jill’s Aunty Jean for tea to celebrate her Birthday.

Happy Birthday Jean.

Under Jill’s instruction we have made a Christmas cake this afternoon and it is about to come out of the oven – Jill hasn’t seen it yet so fingers crossed. She has just reminded me to take it out and sprinkle it with some sherry.

An early night – Jessie and Jake have not arrived yet.

See you next week on the net.
