Week 71 – A Late Start

We are at Chris and Nicole’s home for the weekend and had a late night watching a movie on the big screen after a barbeque meal. I had a phone call from Allison, while I was in the shower wondering where we were – no Blog. We have also had a problem with my lap top logging onto the network at Chris’s this morning and looks like we will have to wait until we get home to up date the Blog.

Jill has had an up and down week with things not happening as expected. We started of well on Sunday with the goal to go shopping achieved. We went to Coles, shopped and Jill used her credit card to pay the bill. We had a slight problem getting to the car and in the process I left Jill’s hand bag in the shopping trolley. A couple of hours latter we received a phone call from Coles asking if we had left the bag – it wasn’t until then that we had missed it. You can imagine who got the blame loud and clear. There are obviously lots of honest people around as the bag had been found outside in a trolley and handed in.

Thanks who ever you were and thanks to the staff at Coles.

On Monday Jill had another appointment with the chiropractor – her back is much better but still needed some manipulation. After the visit we headed to the netball courts for a walk and again Jill walked with the aid of the crutches. Tuesday and Wednesday were emotional downers and very little was achieved. Thursday was much better and we did the speech exercises, netball courts and Gym. Jill walked three courts – another improvement over last week. We had a visit from Jill’s physio on Friday and she had Jill walk down the street – which is more of a test as it is much more uneven than the netball courts. She commented on the improvement in Jill’s endurance and the co-ordination of her leg and use of the crutches together. She also mentioned Jill’s voice – louder. Jill still does not believe there is much difference.

I visited Mum on Friday afternoon and met up with Pat & Keith there. Pat says she is improving. Mum is still very tired and lacking energy we hope to see some improvement when we get back on Monday.

Jill is waiting for Michael to arrive as she is having her hair cut – thank heavens. For all those who know Jill, she has lots of hair and it takes a lot of care.
