Week 63 “Sophie’s Search for a cure”

This week started with lunch at Hollywood’s followed with a visit to Gloria Jean’s new coffee lounge which has just opened in the old Post Office building – This was a change from coffee at home. Actually our coffee machine was away for repair and arrived back on Tuesday. Following an early rise on Monday, we got an appointment at the doctors. Later in the afternoon we had our prescription for Terazosin. So Jill has started on Terazosin – no side effects so far.

On Tuesday we made an appointment with our chiropractor and with a little trepidation Jill went to see Leo. He was very gentle and Jill’s mind was at ease. Her back had been causing quite a bit of pain and following the visit she was feeling much better. We are back again next Monday.

Each day we have been able to walk. Either in the drive or down at the netball courts. Beth was here on Thursday and had Jill walk down the street to the court. It was great to see Jill with Beth.

The mail on Thursday brought Jill’s speech therapy appointment at the Albury Base Hospital. In conjunction with CSU (Charles Sturt University) the hospital is conducting a “Parkinson Intensive Voice Management Clinic. The Therapy sessions will take place Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for a two week period commencing 17/9 and 24/9. Each session will take approximately 45 minutes (2 sessions each day).

We have just heard from the Oz travellers . They are in Esperance. Pictures below.

During my usual browsing the net looking for MSA information I came across a site called “Sophie’s search for a cure” on http://www.rainlightfilms.com/html/ssfac.htm. They have a DVD about Sophie and her journey. I sent an email and have ordered a copy. I will let you know what I think.

I am early tonight but Jess has just arrived on my knee.

See you next week on the net
