Week 168 ” GO CATS!”

Come on the Cats- how was that last night- pretty convincing – sorry Michael. I will have to prepare myself for this coming week and the big match and not get to excited. I will drag out the Geelong Cat gear to wear this week. I have been thinking of taking mum’s cat Jessie up to see her – I will decorate her cage for the journey.

GO YOU MIGHTY CATS

Mum is back at St Cath’s – her legs are certainly improving, her right leg is just about cleared and they are only bandaging it for protection. However the left on still has an open wound that they are dressing every second day. They are surprised how well it has come along. The main problem is still the pneumonia which has improved but she still has congestion on her lungs. She has lost the will to live and just wants to go to sleep. Her heart just won’t give up. When you sit with her she hangs onto to your hand not wanting to let go. I hope the visit from Jessie sparks her up. The hairdresser visits weekly and on Thursday she did mum’s hair and that made her feel teriffic and she looked great.

New Hair do - makes you feel like a new woman

Jill finally had her appointment with the urologist this week and he appears happy with her results. His advice and that of the continence nurse have been great and have given Jill much more freedom. I mentioned that she was having trouble walking well that has continued and I am positive we will need to get in contact with our GP and the orthopaedic surgeon. Her walking and balance are affected by the MSA and the pain she is having from her left knee. Walking to the toilet, bedroom etc has her almost in tears. She has refused any pain killing medication in the past but she will require help to get through this next stage.

More on our family tree – I received a family tree from Len who is a second cousin. I have never met but he has done a lot of research. He wrote to my father in 1997 just before dad died. I have emailed him and will keep in contact and see where we can help each other in this research. We seem to find it difficult when we start looking into the Irish records to find the correct links.

Macca is almost finished and I will need to get Jill into the shower.

See you next week on the net.
