Week 145 – Preparation for Easter

I am sitting at the kitchen table with the laptop in front of me, Jessie sharing the chair and Jake at my feet. Jill has just had her breakfast and is listening to Macca. The past week has been fairly quiet except for exercising, with the weather cooling down I will try to get Jill back to the netball courts for some walking practice. She has had a couple of minor fall – that’s if any fall is minor. More tending to over balance and in most cases I have been close enough to stop or slow down the fall. They still create this fear and she takes some time to get back her composure.

We have been planing our trip to Eildon for Easter, Jake into the kennels and Jessie has her favourite carer Lorna looking after her. We are in the process of cooking some meals and freezing them. I have moved the van so that Jill can get into it. I installed four LED reading lights (only draw 4 watts each) and this morning I am installing a bracket on the outside of the van under the awning to watch the television from outside. I will give the van a good wash this afternoon, it is covered with dust. Tomorrow morning I will get the battery and brake system on the van checked and the TV cable and power extended to the bracket outside.

The renovations to our rear bedroom and bathroom will commence while we are away at Easter so that means I will have to clear out the bedroom , wardrobes and bathroom drawers some time this week . Our builder Simon will be here during the week to make sure of what we actually need.

Mum is on the mend, she has been down to the lounge for her meals and her friends keep her entertained and bring cups of tea to her room. They have entertainers at St Catherines  each week and on Thursday when I visited her I meet Mum and a couple of her friends at the lift heading down to listen. Mum says we are going down to listen to Smokey Dawson – he is beautiful – ( actually Trevor Dawson – local Country singer) I attended a funeral on behalf of Mum on Friday as her friend Pat had lost her husband a few days ago.

We had a couple of hours on Skype yesterday as Jill’s sister and Gavin have just found the benefits of Skype and like us are amazed how great it is to talk and see the person you are with.

Another birthday has appeared on the calendar – HAPPY BIRTHDAY MARG – we hope you have a great day.

I had better get started on my cleaning of the van.

See you next week on the net
