Week 129- Days 31,32 & 33 ” Home again”

Yes we are home. It was a great feeling to crawl into our own bed – even if we had to fight of a couple of animals.

We left Qingdao just after lunch on Tuesday and were driven to the airport with Lucy. Our thanks for the trouble the staff of Beike goes to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Lucy must have picked the best Dragon Air person on the check in counter He was great, spoke immaculate English and was extremely helpful. We said our goodbyes and were taken off through customs to await being boarded. With the wheel chair we were first on and had great seats , close to the toilets and plenty of leg room. We left on time and three hours later we circled Hong Kong a couple of times and eventually landed. We were told to remain seated until the plane was clear and the chap with the wheel chair arrived. Without whom we would never have found Gate 64 in time. Up lifts across walkways, down lifts, caught the train and then several travelators later we arrived at Gate 64 with 10 minutes to spare. Our seats were in a similar location to coming over. However the plane was more modern and we had more leg room, wider seats therefore more comfort. Seven hours later we watched sunrise over Broken Hill and with in two hours we were descending into Tullamarine (Melbourne). It took about an hour to get through customs as there were flights from Bangkok and TV crews etc. The excitement increased as Jill saw Chris, Allison and Chris waiting for us (8.30am). After some emotional greetings we were taken to the cars, more goodbyes as Chris and Allison headed back to Bendigo and Chris drove us to his home.

We sat down and that was the end I think we both went to sleep and woke about 2 pm. Chris and Nicole arrived home from work and prepared a beautiful meal for us. Early into bed and a good nights sleep. Nicole was gone to work when we rose and Chris had waited on us before he left. We finally climbed into the car and headed home arriving about 1.30pm. Jess met us at the door and has not left our sides since then. Lorna (our fantastic neighbour) who had been baby sitting Jess and the house came over. Jess had been sick a couple of times and was doing some other unmentionable things – just lonely we guessed, the pool had gone green – basked had been blocked (no water flow) but was beautiful when we arrived home. “THANKS LORNA & PETE”.

I went and picked up Jake from the kennels and he was that excited to see us.

Next task was shopping and visiting Mum at St Cath’s.

We had dinner and a very early night – with only one toilet call at 1am the next thing I heard was the wireless turn on at 7am. Jill slept through it and Just woke 9am and wanted some breakfast.

It has rained on and off over night I thought that was revenge for hanging out a load of washing – which is now wetter than when it went out. The grass needs mowing and the patio and carport need sweeping – so life is back to normal.

We now will rest and then start trying to activate those 150,000,000 little soldiers (stem cells) into a few small miracles.

See you next Sunday on the net
