Jill and I have prepared fro the arrival of Santa – Me as usual setting up and Jill giving instructions. Christmas tree in new location – I hope Jill would have approved and the stockings & gifts under the tree. Michael arrived home on Christmas Eve.
Christmas morning arrived – didn’t sleep much was I waiting for Santa or for Jill’s approval. We had breakfast and the FaceTime with Riley and Lucas at their Gran & Pa’s. They were overwhelmed with Santa’s presents and Riley thought it was great that Santa had also left some presents here. I visited my
neighbour and she gave me a bunch of roses to take out to Jill. Michael prepared the coffee. We went out , we sat beside Jill , gave her the roses, had coffee with her and I played “The Call of the Cappuccino ” by Dermot Dorgan. I pruned the rose bush. We talked for a while said our goodbye until next visit. I wish she would be there to see the grand kids.
Back home and we put the pork and chickens on for lunch. Allison & Chris arrived and everything was organised .Allison had stopped at the cemetery to see her mum and was a bit tearful when she arrived . I reminded her that Mum would have been there organising everything making certain I didn’t forget anything. With lunch just around the corner , my sister and brother in law arrived followed by Jill’s favourite Aunty Jean and cousin Joan.
The lunch was served and Jill would have been impressed with the Pork and Crackling. I have always had a problem producing a great crackling and if Jill loved anything about Christmas Dinner it was Allison’s Pavlova and Pork crackling. Lunch lasted into afternoon tea and finally dinner – but dinner was just desert as we were all overfull. Finally everyone headed home and we washed dishes and were in bed early
Just as well we were in bed early as for some reason the alarm on my car went off at 4.45am and that was the end of sleep – even Jessie ( cat) thought it was time to be up.
Chris , Nicole , Riley and Lucas arrive on Friday – so another rush of excitement.
See you all on the net in the new year,
