Sleep is still difficult – I find myself reaching out to feel Jill during the night. Jessie our cat is still wandering around meowing very loudly and wants to be cuddled all the time. She just climbed up on my knee while I am typing this blog.
I am still receiving some beautiful condolences from all over the world – by MSA patients , friends and carers who say they feel that they knew Jill through the blog. I have sat here and read them over and over again as well as the cards and flowers on our dinning room table. Jill would have loved the flowers. I would have been told to add water to them each day.
Last weekend Chris , Nicole , Riley and Lucas took me to Peterborough to help them celebrate Nicole’s dads 70th. A long trip but I enjoyed being there and meeting their friends. Got to see the family farm and watch Riley ride in the tractor with his Pa. He got to press the horn and help his Pa feed the cattle.
I have not eaten this morning as I am heading into hospital to have my right eye cataract removed . When I had the left eye done some 6 weeks ago Jill said that it proved that I was really a one eyed Geelong ( Aussie Rules football) supporter . Actually I always supported the Demons ( Melbourne Football Club) which was Jill’s favourite – except when they played against Geelong.
I have been finding jobs around the house to do – not hard as Jill was always saying you don’t have to be with me go and mow the lawns, fix this or that – well darling I am doing all those things – even got that power point fixed in the kitchen. We have organised a waste skip to put rubbish in from out in my shed and back yard – the family are home this weekend to help. I have also started to do some walking each morning – a bit cold this morning 1C . Another thing Jill told me to do.
