Week 363-4 ” Weekend away in Caravan”

Don’t forget March is MSA Awareness Month

We arrived back home yesterday afternoon – Tuesday. As I turned into Hogan St I was happy that there were no vehicles to obstruct backing into our drive. I commenced the backing and finally was in place and when I got out of the car the front of our house looked amazing – lawn mowed , garden weeded what a difference to what I had left – who did it? The answer was obvious our great neighbours had spent the day doing what I should do. Thanks Lorna and Peter you are a treasure and I have no idea what I can do to repay you.

We were a  bit tired but happy to be home and inside out of the heat.

The 5 days in Eildon were very hot mostly above 30C and evenings around 20C . Fortunately our van is air-conditioned. Lucas had his feeds and afternoon sleeps in the van. Both boys certainly enjoyed their weekend holiday – lots of smiles and laughter. We left here about lunch time on Friday – having lunch at McDonald’s at GlenRowan. We arrived at Eildon about 3.30pm  and set up  in our usual site. Set up the satellite dish and could not get a position to get line of site with the satellite so had to be satisfied with normal Tv reception which was a bit scratchy and the signal would keep dropping out. We had a good nights sleep and Allison and Chris arrived about 11pm and Chris, Nicole, Riley and Lucas were not far behind. It was great to have the family there  – I wish we could encourage Michael to come. The weather didn’t cool untill the sun went behind the hills and we sat around our imaginary fire and talked. The young ones went to bed and settled for the night. Sunday arrived and with it another hot day. We had lunch at the Eildon Pub and another night around a fire – mosquito candle – dual purpose. Monday and the others started to pack early and were gone before lunch – we spent the rest of the day inside the van. Much cooler – I went and bought a bottle of lime and and an ice-cream and mixed the two into a lime spider for Jill. we had tried each day to get the birds to come in and eat seeds but to no avail. However when I got up on Tuesday morning they were there – Riley would have loved it – he had spent lots of time throwing handfuls of seed into the air trying to encourage them to fly in. The night before they left he got to see a possum which was in a tree near the caravan – he was excited about that.

Jill was a little off colour this morning and it was around 1pm before I got her to the kitchen and I had cancelled the physio for today. We also had an appointment with Jill’s case manager – which was cancelled earlier in the morning. As the day has progressed she has improved asking for afternoon tea .

See you soon on the net.
