Week 323 “Off around Oz”

This past week has been fairly quiet. Jill has been having physio each day on her good leg and arms. As usual she puts all her effort into exercise and the physios are always impressed. The visits from the orthopaedic doctors and their interns was quick and produced no news that Jill wanted to hear. She just wanted them to say – “Go home”.  During this week we have had the TPC staff at a conference , the OT away and  without them all here to get things organised nothing much has happened.

We have only been outside once this week as the weather has been overcast and cold. The nurses have been working on the pressure sore? and seem to have it under control . She is only allowed 2 hours in the recliner , and even in bed they are rotating her in bed from left to right hand side. I am getting some practice in the use of the hoist- depending on what nurse is on duty.

Jill waited in anticipation on Sunday for the arrival of Jeannette(sister) and Gavin as they were visiting Jill and staying here on their first leg of their trip around Oz. They set up their Avan on our front lawn – but slept in our spare bedroom – very cold here over night and got down close to zero. We woke to a very heavy fog although it had started to lift when they were ready to leave. Their second leg of their trip will see them at Majors Creek on the south east coast of New South Wales some 6 hours from here at Jill’s  cousin Jenny’s.  Jill wished she could be with them . I suggested that we could meet up with them in October in Streaky Bay South Australia – so we now have another goal. She was upset when I told her I had cancelled our accommodation in Hervey Bay for July.

It’s about 9am and Jill wants me there early today as she is certain they will say she can come home – this is unlikely as we still need the equipment delivered. I just hate to upset her – so we will see how this week progresses.

See you soon on the net
