Week 354 “Another Christmas has passed”

We have spent the last week at Chris, Nicole and Riley’s. We set off  last Sunday , temperature was 39C and fluctuated between 37C and 40C but was much better when we arrived at Doreen. Riley greeted us with smiles, hugs and kisses. After dinner Chris and Riley took us for a drive to see the Christmas lights and we were very impressed, Riley had seen them before but was excited to see them again. He wanted the window down and as we drove round he kept saying ” Ho,Ho,Ho Merry Christmas” much to the delight of those walking around. On Monday we placed presents under the tree and Riley watched with great excitement. After Riley was in bed Chris and I assembled the trampoline – took about 2 hours. On Christmas Day we were up  to watch the excitement in Riley’s face as he opened his presents and passed the other presents around. He had not noticed the trampoline and it wasn’t until Nicole suggested he have a look if the reindeers had eaten the carrots he left out for them last night. On seeing the trampoline all he wanted to do was hop on and he spent a lot of time between his lego farm and the trampoline.

Michael & Amanda arrived for lunch and more presents were exchanged much to Riley’s excitement. Finally after dinner he went to bed very tired. Next morning it was Christmas day all over again with the arrival of Allison and Chris.

Nicole went to her obstetrician on Thursday and was told the baby would be born in the next 24 hours and here we are 4 days later and she is still waiting. We are waiting for phone call.

Jill has survived her week in the caravan and we have found several things that we should have had in the van were missing. The air conditioning got a good try out and surprise so did our gas heating on a couple of evenings. I had purchased a wedge shaped insert to help raise Jill’s head and shoulders and it worked a treat except she tended to slide down the bed. So with a pillow under her legs and the wedge we seemed to win. She slept very well each night. Although but for Christmas day she was difficult to get up and going.

Monday week we need to be back in Melbourne for the arrival of our grand child and Jill’s neurologist appointment. We are waiting on the phone call.
