Week 229-30 ” Dad, Dad”

The last couple of weeks, Jill has been having trouble with her walking – getting her feet to move and the pain that goes with that. She still insists on getting out to the gym and doing her leg and hand peddling. Her speech over the past week has got very hoarse and requires more concentration on my part to hear her. She gets upset when I say that I’m not sure what she wants but I guess that’s better than me guessing and getting it wrong. Rebecca, Jill’s speech therapist was here on Friday and after listening to Jill suggested that she not do any vocal exercises over the weekend and will phone on Monday and see how things are.

We have had our Skype visits from Riley and he amazes us with what he is able to do – he certainly is growing up. On Friday there came another milestone – We received an email from Nicole – titled “Dad – Dad” It was actually an audio clip. You guessed it – Riley saying “Dad – Dad”. We have listened to the clip over and over again.

It is amazing to be able to be part of such a memorable occasion. I will add it below and hope that you are able to hear it. Jill also received a beautiful canvas print of a photo I had taken of Riley – Chris, Nicole and Riley had sent it for Jill’s birthday.Riley ” Dad- dad”

Yesterday we received a photo directly from Allison and Chris’s I Phone – titled Tiger on the 8th Tee. Another bit of amazing technology. Michael has moved into a new flat in Sandringham and takes Gus for a walk- swim each morning or evening.

Noticed some more stem-cell information the other day with patients with neurological diseases have keyhole surgery into the brain and the stem-cells placed directly into the brain – this is taking place in India. They are reporting improvements in these patients. Jill’s stem cells were placed into the spinal column hoping that they would find their way directly in the brain where they were needed. I still believe that stem cells hold the key to a cure and when they are able to modify the behavior of the stem cells we will see fantastic changes.

Macca has finished – time for a shower

See you soon on the net.

    Hi,

I stumbled upon your blog as I was browsing the net for MSA related information. Your blog has been quite inspirational and I would like to discuss further with you about the stem cell therapy, as I am planning to take my dad (who has been diagonised with MSA) for a stem cell therapy to china. I would be extremely glad if you can mail me your contact details and your convenient time and I shall reach out to you accordingly to discuss and gather further details. Hope you will acknowledge my request.

    Thanks and Regards,
    Sathiyan
