Week 216-7 ” Riley on Skype”

Lots of rain and things look great. We have had a positive couple of weeks. Jill has been very busy with speech exercises a couple of times per day, followed by her exercise regime.

The speech exercises involve a couple of hours each day and those that know Jill know she is not a morning person – she likes her bed. Fortunately most of the exercise, both speech and physical have been arranged for late morning and afternoon. Tomorrow will be an interesting event as Rebecca is here at 10am for speech. Jill’s knee has been playing up. She is having trouble putting weight on it. It appears to be muscular and I believe it is a result of her exercises. We have been keeping a cold compress on it and that is helping. We are still doing exercises but with moderation.

With all the talk about internet speed we have changed to Bigpond for our internet provider and the speed of connection is now approximately five times faster and things appear like magic. We lost our phone connection last Wednesday following the heavy rain. I rang Telstra and complained and late in the afternoon I received a phone call, an email and a text telling me every thing had been fixed. I wonder how fast my connection will be after the Government Elections next Saturday.

Riley watching Jill on Skype

We had our Riley fix on Thursday night and we experienced his first giggle. Every time Chris did a particular thing he giggled. His grandmother had the same experience she could not stop laughing. The visits of Riley each week keeps Jill smiling and our life is much better having Riley in it. We forget about the MSA for the short time we get to talk to Riley.

Jill always smiles at RileyMichael arrived late yesterday with Gus, he is off to play a round of golf and then he will cut and colour Jill’s hair. We sat and watched Geelong thrash the Dogs. Why didn’t that happen last week?  Chris, Nicole and Riley are off to Bendigo for Riley’s first visit to his Aunty Allison and Uncle Chris. He sleeps as soon as he gets into the car.

Jill is waiting for breakfast so I had better move or I won’t be popular.

See you soon on the net.
