We are back on schedule with Saturday nights. This week has started with our appointment with our GP to ask about Terasozin as a treatment for MSA. He rang our neurologist and asked his thoughts. Neither had heard about it but said they would investigate into it – so here’s hoping for a quick response. We will have to follow up this next week.
Wednesday brought Beth (Jill’s Physio) and a student to observe. Beth gave Jill a new range of exercises commencing with several she could do on the bed which were designed to help Jill’s back. After these we moved out to Jillian’s Gym and Beth put Jill through another host of exercises. Fortunately Beth has produced a written set of exercises for us showing diagrams and instructions as well as future progressions to work on. We have been using Beth’s exercises for the last couple of days as well as walking at the netball courts.
On Monday I took the new Jeep to the auto electrician and had electric brakes fitted for the caravan. These are certainly much neater that the others we have had and they can be also mounted vertically.
Thursday we had our visitors Sergio and Lucia from Melbourne. Lucia has Cerebella Ataxia and it is surprisingly how similar the symptoms affect both Jill and Lucia. Sergio and I were also able to match our experiences. Lucia had baked us some Almond bread which is one of Jill’s favourites (Jean bakes it for us). Thanks Lucia it is fantastic. We hope to get to see them in the future.
I brought Jean around for a coffee and almond bread on Friday – she is recovering from a heavy fall she had last week. She is still very sore and stiff. She is hoping that she improves as next Tuesday she has to turn up at Government House in Melbourne to receive a commendation for her Red Cross service. Congratulations Jean.
My sister Pat is also being commended on her teaching service – 50 years. She was taken out on Friday evening for a dinner by her friends and staff members and next Friday she is off to Melbourne for a reception at Crown Casino, where she will be commended by the State Government – Congratulations Pat.
Jill has just reminded me about her evening medication. Guess who has just appeared at my feet asking for their evening meal.
See you next week on the net.
