Week 36 – Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day ( last wednesday)to all you romantics. I suprised Jill by giving her roses for the first time. She always said I did not have a romantic bone in my body. I kept saying that Valentines day was set up for the florists and after buying roses the other day I am convinced but having said that I do love her.
The countdown continues we have only 13days 16 hours and 19 minutes to welcome Nicole into the Keenan clan. I think that we must be as excited as Chris & Nicole (probably not quite); It will be a little disappointing as Chris’s grand mother will not be able to make the journey (she is 93) but all her love and best wishes for their future will be there in spirit.
Jill was back in the pool today – arm in plastic bag. We had the stitches removed on Tuesday and everything looked good. Our doctor checked Jill’s sore ribs (which I thought were broken). He is convinced that they were ok – probably bruised. We have been in the gym daily. Exercises like balancing on a gym ball and doing various foot exercises at the same time. Walking in the parallel bars , balancing with eyes shut, catching the ball to improve co-ordination, riding on the exercise bike for endurance and then down to the net ball courts for distance work. The sore ribs and back pain are making all these a bit difficult.
I have in the past mentioned how Jill’s strength, having a goal –Chris’s wedding keeps her going. She really just wants to be able to walk unaided and speak normally. I have always found it difficult to find a word to describe Jill’s courage to fight this disease. Well Jon ( from China ) left a comment on last weeks post and said “I am so sorry about Jill’s accident but I have full faith in her to – somehow I can not think of the word in English – but jianchi in Chinese which means something like endure, persist, carry on strongly”. I am not certain how this would be pronounced but it certainly sounds like Jill.
As usual it’s getting late so I’ll see you next week on the net
