Week 34 – Only 28 days to dance at the wedding

With only 28 days until Chris and Nicole’s wedding the excitement is growing. They have both set off, Chris and his mates for a buck’s weekend at Merimbula and Nicole with her friends for a hen’s weekend in Warrnambool. I imagine that a good time is being had by all. Chris dropped in on Thursday night on their way to Merimbula. Saturday is supposed to be a golf day but after Friday I am guessing it may be a little difficult to see the ball.

We are still having a slight hiccup with Jill’s outfit. We decided to take it back and change it for the next size. I set off to Shepparton (11/4 hours away) collected the outfit and arrived back home. Jill took it out of the bag only to find the security tags were still attached – this is the second time and means another drive back to Shepparton. You can imagine how the temper was. Another phone call and lots of apologies – didn’t make me feel any better. The skirt is a bit long and we have arranged for a friend of Jill’s aunty to do the alterations.

Jill has continued to exercise this week, in the gym, voice, pool and netball courts and we were progressing great until Thursday. After watching a video late into the evening and about midnight decided to head off to bed. Jill went first and I started to look for the cat to feed her. Suddenly a scream from the bedroom and I found Jill on the floor holding her arm and cursing the cat. She had reached into the cupboard for her slippers only to be surprised by the cat. Jill had stumbled back and struck her arm on the dressing table. With blood every where – I panicked thinking she may have a broken arm or worse. Jill calmly said she was ok but for a cut on her arm. When we wiped away the blood it was not a cut but a gash 5-6 inches long with the skin pulled back. It was about 12.30pm and we got into the car and headed up to the hospital emergency ward and after a wait of an hour for a doctor to be available Jill had her arm cleaned up and a Chinese doctor (like being back in Nanshan) injected her arm with local aesthetic saying I think that will be enough until Jill pulled her arm as he was inserting the stitches (about 20 stiches). we arrived home about 3pm had a cup of tea and finally went to bed. I still hadn’t fed the cat and she was all over me until I did. Jill was still saying she was going to kill the cat. She is a bit stiff and sore and has a bruise on her back as well. We are certainly lucky that nothing was broken. Well Saturday is here and Jill is back in the gym. Her strength still amazes me.

The water restrictions are having their effect, buckets of water for each plant; we are collecting about 4 from the showers, about 3 from the evaporative cooler and have connected a hose from the washing machine to do most of the back yard by moving it with each load. I have to put about 10-12 buckets of water into the pool to maintain correct filtering level.

While surfing the net I found a Yahoo site on MSA ( Multiple Systems Atrophy)  http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/MultipleSystemAtrophy  It also covers other rare neuroligical disorders. If you want to read more you need to join the site.

Well again it is time for bed to make up for Thursday’s disaster. See you next week on the net.
